It never fails, your wallpaper project requires just a smidgen of that extra double roll that set you back another $80. Don't get mad, get creative. There are plenty of uses for the leftover paper on the end of those rolls.
Give your filing cabinet a facelift.
Small sections of wallpaper may be the right size to use as book covers. Get a look similar to the ones below by covering your books just like you did in elementary school.

Whip up a stylish paper covered box to use as storage in your home office or as a decorative element to display on a coffee table or in a bookcase.

Create a wall hanging by securing the top and bottom of a strip of paper to dowels and hanging from ribbon.
Other uses:
-Line a few drawers
-Cover a mat for a picture
-Wrap a gift
-Cover switch plates
-Frame a section to hang on your wall.
-Line the back of a glass front cabinet
-Use it for scrapbooking projects
Whatever you do, don't throw out those last few feet of wallpaper, you never know when you might have a bright idea about how to use it.

Great ideas, Karen. And do I have wallpaper leftover??? Oh, yeah!
ReplyDeleteAll those ideas a great!
ReplyDeleteLove the books! you could also use it to line a tray - if you see one you like but don't like the colour / design use it for that (similar to lining a drawer!
ReplyDeleteWhat great ideas, I have a couple rolls on their way for a project, now I have plenty of ideas of what to do with any leftover wallpaper!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Janell

When a friend of mine was first starting out and didn't have a budget for "artwork" for her walls. We scoured the "mark-down" bins at our local wallpaper shop and paired around a half dozen different prints/colors and pasted them to foam core squares, (also varying shapes) and layered them together (using self stick velcro)to form some pretty impressive panels of art! We ended up making about 6 different looking panels for less than $25!! You can use Scrap book papers too for this project and a little spray adhesive. Best of all you can velcro it in place...because it's so lightweight!
ReplyDeleteLove your use of the left over paper! Going to have to borrow that idea. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Karen!

Excellent. Two more...cover a large matchbox and give as a gift with a scented candle or glue to an inexpensive clipboard for a pretty upgrade.

Wow, those are great. It's really true that they can make a huge statement if you have the right wallpaper. My mom always uses her leftover paper to wrap gifts as you mentioned. Clever! Carol
ReplyDeleteI love Mary's filing cabinet!! I have a bland gray cabinet that could totally use some sprucing up.
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas. I have wrapped gifts with it before like you suggested. It makes lovely, heavy, beautiful wrapping paper.
ReplyDeleteLove these ideas! Especially the filing cabinet idea! I never would have dreamed that one up. I could use some for all of my furniture makeovers!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteI love all of these suggestions! I've never wallpapered anything before, although I remember my mom wallpapering our living room when I was a kid.
